About Me

IM A CRITTER LOVER OF EVERY KIND. I HAVE OSCARS WHO THINK THEY ARE PUPPY DOGS, A BALL PYTHON WHO I SPOIL COMPLETELY ROTTEN, AND 2 PD'S WHO ARE THE MOST AFFECTIONATE CRITTERS IN THE WORLD. I LOVE THEM WITH ALL MY HEART, AND SPOIL THEM ABSOLUTELY ROTTEN. OF COARSE I NEVER LET THEM OUT TOGETHER AS THIS WOULD PROVE DISASTEROUS. I USED TO HAVE 27 TURTLES, FOR FOUR YEARS AND I SANG TO THEM, AND THEY LISTENED. IT WAS SO COOL. DID YOU KNOW TURTLES MAKE SOUND AND COMMUNICATE WITH THEIR OWNERS...AT LEAST MINE DID.

I HAVE HAD MY 2-PD'S FOR A SHORT TIME NOW, BUT ALREADY LOVE THEM DEARLY. I WOULD LOVE TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH OTHER PD PARENTS. LOL. I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME ALONG THE WAY TO RAISE THEM TO BE HEALTHY.

Hey you should let your pds become friends, just introduce them gradually. Start by keeping their cages close together. That is how I introduced mine then I started letting them out together for a little bit at a time until I knew they were gonna get along.
The book "Bringing a Prairie Dog Pup Into Your Home"by Karen Stoica and Betsy Callis with Lynda Watson and "Prairie Dog Pets" by Pat Storer are both very helpful!

I'm a new PD owner too looking for advice. I am also a HUGE critter lover. I own two Chinchillas, 3 hammies, 2 turtles and 5 cats, who ironically, don't bother any of my critters at all. I came home one night to an escaped Chin sitting with 3 of my kitties in the kitchen as if they were having a party without me!

Cool , they are the best pets ever, ours are 6 years old now and they are just as much fun today as when we first got them.
Hardest thing is getting used to their moods , which took a long time and they still surprise us from time to time...
But we love them and they love us wether they see us as big P.D'S or think they are little humans i'm not sure but... We have been blessed with them, they are both different characters, but as long as you give them love and belly rubs they will be your freinds forever...
Take Care
