About Me
I live in New England and am a new owner of a PD. I've named him Petie. Seemed cute at first but found many PD's are named Petie! I would love to chat with experienced owners, especially about bonding, litter training, etc. Please feel free to email me anytime!
I am a huge critter and animal lover. I have done rescue all my life of any wild or domestic animal I have come across. I love to foster from local shelters. I have a zoo here, at least the beginnings of one. 3 hammies...Poe, Piglet and Ping. Petie is my PD. I have 5 cats, all rescues...2 feral that live outside and won't come in to save themselves...they are, oldest to youngest...Fred, Blackie, Leo, Toffee and Chad. Leo & Toff are related. I also have 2 Chinchilla's...Diego and Duchess. Two turtles, though my son would hve to tell me their names and a tank of fish...for starters.
My indoor cats treat my rodents like family. Fred lies beside Ping & Poe's cage and swats anyone who comes near. He licks them. I'm told he's tasting them, but he's not. He's too well fed to care. If they are on the floor running around, he just watches them. Fred is too fat to chase rodents!
One night, I arrived home to Ms. Duchess, an escapee, in the kitchen with 3 of my kitties all around her. She was just hanging out. She was following Fred, she loves Fred. I felt like I missed the party!
All my kitties go up to my rodent cages to say hello, nose to nose, and it's so darn interesting to see how they all just take to eachother. My youngest Chinchilla, also loves Fred. Fred is a big kitty...I'd think they'd fear him, but they search him out when they are running about in the ball. Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Take your time.
To know them is to love them.. Be slow, gentle but firm - try and remind them who is boss....
I would love to know best ways to litter train and best ways to bond. Mine is young and I've had him about 2 weeks. Thanks
