About Me

I was introduced to PD's a little over nine years ago when I walked into a local pet store with my children. The store had just opened and they had these cute little creatures called prairie dogs for sale. Well I took one look and was hooked. We left  the store and I called my husband at work and mention what we had seen on our little outing he was not impressed. When he got home from work  we went back to the store. My husband protesting the whole way. Then when he walked into the store and saw the PDs he to was hooked. He even picked the little guy out, never blinked at the price and had him named before we even reached the parking lot to go home. Soon after that the ban took affect and we tried to rescue the other PDs that were left at the store but to no avail.

Like I said that was a little over nine years ago and our lives were so blessed to have  had this little guy in it. We lost  Bert two years ago due to cancer. He was the most amazing animal that I have ever incountered.  I have  always had a soft spot for animals and at the present time we have five dogs that are all rescues , 2 are golden labs and 3 are standard poodles.

:)  We added a baby PD to our family in April of this year. Her name is Sookie and she is a handful. Our PD Bert was calm and cuddly. Sookie is the total opposite. She is on the go and never wants to stop. She also wants to climp up everything and plays nonstop. She keeps us on our toes. She is a trip. She might not like to cuddle like a couch potato but she has found her way into our heart. She has the cutest little overbite and she is Soooo vocal you always know what she wants and I have a feeling that Sookie will always get what Sookie wants!
