About Me

Charlie and me came a long way.  Things were a bit tricky at first, getting to know eachother.  But now, I can say the love between us is mutual.  It just takes time!  He's a moody little guy at times, but I know when he just needs his space.  For those who are considering a prairie dog, I would say go for it.  They all have different personalities, but I think most animals with just enough attention and love can blossom into the most wonderful of companions.  Just be patient and love unconditionally, even if that love is not returned.

Also, if things dont work out with my prairie dog perhaps you'd want to give him a shot? I saw in another post that you wanted to get another.

Hey Tara D. I am also from Arlington, Texas and I just recently got a prairie dog from S&S Exotic. He's very erratic in behavior... sometimes he'll be really good, but then he'll do things like chew on this wire I've told him not to and then he'll come attack me. I don't know what to do. Perhaps he doesn't get enough attention?

What do you do to discipline your prairie dog when he is bad? Let me know please. My girlfriend and I really want to keep him (his name is Fonzie), but ultimately in the long run we just want him to be happy, even if that means giving him away to more qualified owners.
